Driving Direction from the Calgary International Airport to Banff:

Your best option for getting to Banff from the Calgary International Airport is the Banff Airporter , official airport shuttle provider for the Centre. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery as you travel to Banff.

If you choose to travel by private vehicle, you will find the route is well-signed and the trip from the Calgary International Airport to Banff takes approximately 1.5 hours. View Maps of Calgary to Banff

  • Depart airport via Barlow Trail (head towards Calgary City Centre).
  • Take 16th Avenue West exit and turn right onto 16th Avenue West.
  • Remain on 16th Avenue West through Calgary; it becomes the Trans-Canada Highway 1. Continue to head west on the Trans-Canada Highway 1 and eventually this will take you through the park gates to the exit for the town of Banff.

  • Traveling westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway 1 from Calgary, take the first exit to Banff.
  • Make a left-hand turn at the base of this exit ramp. Follow this road (Banff Avenue) into the town of Banff. Continue on Banff Avenue.
  • At Moose Street (the first traffic light), turn left and continue straight on Moose until it ends at the intersection with Grizzly Street.
  • Turn right on Grizzly Street (the only option). At the stop sign at the end of the block, take St-Julien Road up the hill. St-Julien Road leads directly into The Banff Centre.
  • The Banff Centre is revitalizing our campus. Until 2009, access through The Banff Centre along St. Julien Road will be limited. Please follow signage on site to access parking and check-in areas.
