Canadian Science Policy Conference
TORONTO OCTOBER 28-30

This conference represents a measured first step towards building a robust science policy network in Canada. Such a system will be critical for producing the next generation of policy-makers who understand S&T issues, as well as scientists who understand how to integrate their research into a broader societal context for the benefit of all Canadians.

CSBMCB support for graduate and undergraduate student activities

The CSBMCB will provide financial support to graduate and undergraduate student societies for a variety of activities related to biochemistry, molecular biology or cell biology. Examples of supported activities include (but are not restricted to) the following:

Scientific Symposium Days, with invited scientists speaking on subjects in the areas of biochemistry, molecular biology or cell biology.

Student Research Conferences, where students display their research work as posters, or give oral presentations.

Career Fairs or Career Workshops in areas related to biochemistry, molecular biology or cell biology.

The society will support several events each year, to a maximum of $500 per event, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Student organizations seeking financial support under this program should contact the society Secretary (see below), with a short description of the planned event and the amount of funding requested.
