When trying to lose weight, hormones in your brain can become a hindrance. Usually, Leptin is released from fat cells and tells your brain when you should and should not eat. When you lose weight, your Leptin levels decrease and this triggers your body into thinking it is beginning to starve. Pangs of hunger increase and you might start eating again.

The third reason is the number of calories one takes in daily. The bottom line is that it is much easier to get the calories in than to get them out, regardless of how often or much you exercise. Even the type of exercise you do has a lesser effect than what you do in between exercise sessions. Lazing around and eating snacks you have “earned” neutralizes all your efforts and could even make you go backward.

  • Exercise

Exercise is very important for weight loss because it helps burn calories and counteracts mechanisms like increased hunger and decreased metabolism. Physical activities account for about 30% of burned calories.

However, it takes a lot of self-discipline to exercise, especially if you opt to go to the gym. Fortunately, you can substitute this by doing daily walks instead.

  • Watch Your Plate

Not watching what you eat can reverse the effects of weight loss. This is true even if you put in a lot of exercises. Don’t try to compensate for what you have lost in the gym by taking in more calories.

  • Lifestyle Change

The other reason why weight loss can be difficult is because of lifestyle changes. If you want to lose weight successfully, you need to make a lifestyle change that is relatively easy to live with and can be adhered to in the long term. For instance, make better food choices and try adding more physical activities to your day.
